Each year many brave people sleep out around the Midlands to support our work. They have found it be a great way to understand the reason behind why they are fundraising: to tackle homelessness.
"The whole experience opened my eyes to what some people go through day in, day out. We had a great laugh and were able to tell stories and jokes to pass the time, but for those who must sleep out, they have to deal with bad weather, freezing conditions and real danger. The Sleep Out made me aware of how some people are forced to live their life like this and thankfully, we were able to do our bit to help tackle homelessness." - Ciaran O'Connor
"All that I can say is this, the one night that I spent doing a sleep out for the Midlands Simon community showed how hard the ground is, how long twelve hours can be and how frightening three o’clock in the morning can look. But it also showed me the kindness of some people passing by, and the strength of the human spirit. It is a fantastic way to not only raise money but more importantly understand what it feels like to have nowhere to go and nothing to do." - Monique Botha
"Sleeping outside really makes you appreciate all the things you take for granted so this experience has really opened up my eyes and made me grateful for the things I have. It is an experience that everyone can take something from so I would definitely recommend it to others. Would I do it again? Definitely!" - Lisa Elliott
